Self Advocacy ToolKit

About ILC Self Advocacy ToolKit

Deaf Victoria aims to empower deaf and hard of hearing people with more knowledge about how to self-advocate for their access and inclusion needs.

With funding from the National Disability Insurance Agency under the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) program we were able to provide training and resources for deaf and hard of hearing people about self-advocacy.

Deaf Victoria are aware of the barriers to inclusion and participation deaf and hard of hearing people face everyday. We have developed a readily available toolkit to help resolve these issues.

This ‘Self-Advocacy Toolkit’ resource has been developed based on feedback from the Deaf Community and is available both online and in printed format. The team at Deaf Victoria hopes these resources will build knowledge and confidence allowing our community to self-advocate on issues that impact their lives from a rights based approach.
