A voice for deaf and hard of hearing Victorians

Deaf Victoria advocates on behalf of deaf and hard of hearing Victorians aiming to make Victoria more inclusive and accessible.

We are funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing to provide free individual advocacy services. We undertake systemic advocacy and provide education and consultancy services.

Individual Advocacy

Focusing on one person’s rights and needs and advocating with and for them. Examples include workplace, legal and educational issues.

Systemic Advocacy

Focusing on the whole community’s rights and needs. Examples include the Hospital Review and Community Consultations on the NDIS.

To celebrate, Deaf Victoria and IMHA - Independent Mental Health Advocacy are hosting a free online workshop.

The workshop will cover:
- Deaf people’s rights
- How to advocate when using mental health services
- Key laws and advocacy steps

This session is for Deaf people, supporters, and friends or family.

Deaf Life Skills Workshop
Join us for our next Deaf Life Skills Workshop — a great opportunity for Deaf migrants and unemployed Deaf people to build useful, everyday skills.

Topic: How to book Auslan interpreters
We’ll also have a group discussion about what we learned from the last workshop on using NRS calls.
